Today we are bringing you an excellent quality mouse that will blow your mind. Logitech released a Trackball Ergonomic gaming mouse, after six years of it’s last installment of a trackball mouse.Logitech – MX Ergo Trackball Gaming MouseThere is a niche of trackball gaming mouse users, who still prefer a trackball over a laser directed mouse. Yes, you read that right! There is apparently a market for trackball gaming mouse. Logitech MX Ergo is a Trackball directed wireless gaming mouse with an ergonomic design. Since Logitech launched its trackball mouse after six years, we are also excited about it.MX Ergo Trackball Mouse Credit LogitechBefore we begin yapping about Logitech’s mouse, let us tell you about Trackball mouse first, just in case if you don’t know much about it. But if you are aware of Trackball mouse then you can just skip to next paragraph.About Trackball MouseWhen we first mentioned trackball mouse you probably thought of thisA Trackball mouseBut we were talking about thisAlso a Trackball MouseBoth of these are trackball mouse and essentially have the same engineering, but one is better than other, in my opinion. The later mouse gives you almost same functionality as the first mouse, but the first kind of mouse got traction because apple decided that a moving mouse is more intuitive, which it is, and since then we have the First kind of mouse in consumer grade section, not second types of mouse. The stationary trackball or trackball mouse was invented multiple times, in recorded history. But it was made famous by Apple Computers in 1970. The First ever recorded Trackball mouse was invented by one “Ralph Benjamin” who was a Science Officer for British Royal Navy’s Scientific Services. It was then called Comprehensive Display Systems. Few more systems were invented separately by American and Canadian inventors, the mouse we use today is a developed form of American inventor Douglas Englebert’s design.Features of MX Ergo Trackball Gaming MouseMX Ergo Trackball MouseCredit LogitechLogitech claims that it is most advanced trackball – wireless mouse in the world. It has usual left and right click functions but the main control is the thumb position of with respect to the right handed user. Since the product class has a converged niche it was not wise for Logitech to launch a separate left-hand version of this mouse. Although it would be great if they do launch one for the lefties.Ergonomic design:The Logitech MX Ergo has a highly ergonomic design, if you see the curves are not like that of a standard mouse, but the inner portion is slightly lifted up to raise the curve. This comforts user while using the mouse.MX Ergo Trackball MouseCredit Logitech Custom elevation:You can elevate mouse from Zero to Twenty degrees from the surface, to give you better traction and elevation over the mouse. This feature will be liked by gamers as they have to perform manoeuvre using a mouse and rather than raising the surface they just can raise or change the angle of the mouse itself. Logitech claims that it will cause 20 percent less muscular strain compared to a traditional mouse.MX Ergo Trackball Mouse 20 degree elevationCredit Logitech More Control over Accuracy and Speed:Mouse settings are OS dependent, but with Logitech MX Ergo Trackball mouse you can alter speed, accuracy, dpi settings from the mouse itself. It gives you greater control over cursor accuracy and speed. So when you change your System you don’t have to adjust its settings in new OS.Mostly a Gaming Mouse:In my opinion, The Logitech MX Ergo will be used mostly by developers and designers, but it is essentially a gaming mouse, do not underestimate its capability just because it’s a trackball mouse. It can take on a regular Optical Mouse at any given time of day. Especially for the gamers who prefer trackball over remote controls. The best thing about it is that apart from a Bluetooth dongle it also comes with a bundled Bluetooth integration. So you don’t have to care for that little Bluetooth dongle anymore, you can just integrate your mouse with your system’s in-built Bluetooth. Imagine the pain if you bought one of those $ 100 mice and you lost the Bluetooth dongle! Boy, will it hurt? Just a word of caution, if you are planning to use this mouse with your system’s built-in Bluetooth make sure you have Bluetooth 4.+ otherwise you won’t get the best performance.Multi System Integration:Logitech MX Ergo Wireless mouse comes with a unique feature, in order to use the mouse you have to install a software on the target machine, this software is called “Flow Software” and it is installed on every machine that needs this mouse. So you can use this mouse on multiple systems. But that’s not all, if you want to transfer files from one system to another, you can just like you would on a regular system. Just drag and drop files from System A to System B, and your files will be copied from source to destination. You can use this single mouse up to 6 machines in 32 feet range.MX Ergo Trackball MouseCross Computer FlowCredit Logitech Sensitivity Range:This Trackball mouse has a sensitivity range of 320 to 440 dpi. Operational distance is up to 32 feet, and that’s just not it, this mouse comes with a whopping 500 mAh rechargeable battery with an estimated lifespan of 10 million clicks.Speed and efficiency:The Logitech MX Ergo was as smooth as an optical mouse, we didn’t have any difficulty using it. In fact, we are planning to replace our current optical mouse with the new MX Ergo as it takes less space and we can use this mouse with stationary control. I used this for few hours and felt that it is easy on wrist and shoulders to use a stationary mouse.Multiple Controls:MX Ergo has multiple controls to ease your life, the trackball can take cursor from one monitor to other, the scroll also can swing left and right in order to move the cursor left and right.MX Ergo Trackball MousePrecision TrackingCredit LogitechIn the Box you getTrackball. Unifying receiver. Micro-USB cable for recharging. User documentation.Hardware and Software RequirementsRequired: One USB port. Windows 7 or later. macOS X 10.12 or later. Bluetooth ( win 8 or later).Overall this is a great gadget to have, we don’t get such gadget more often. Apart from all the pros, there are cons as well. The biggest bummer is that it is not available for left handed people. Logitech didn’t supply Flow Software for Linux, but that’s understandable as it is a gaming mouse, and Linux is really not a gaming OS. At USD 99 we believe that it is a good gadget in this price range, you don’t get a gaming mouse with this accuracy and features in this range even in the Optical category. For targeted market and niche user base the price, functionality and quality place it in our top shelve gadget list.See Also :Keyboard with Handwriting PadToday we brought you a keyboard which double as a writing pad.
